The Climbing Centre Group Enters a New Partnership with Plas-y-Brenin, The National Mountain Centre

The Climbing Centre Group, which operates busy climbing walls in Manchester, Harrogate and Reading, has announced a radical development in their partnership with Plas y Brenin, The National Mountain Centre.

After working together to develop individual’s climbing skills for over two years, these market leaders have teamed up to provide climbing enthusiasts with leadership training. From December this year visitors to any of the Climbing Group’s centres will be able to take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy training and assessment in a range of National Governing Body Awards. These awards include the Climbing Wall Award (CWA, the Climbing Wall Leading Award (CWLA) and the Single Pitch Award (SPA). The partnership will also add REC Emergency First Aid to the list of qualifications, which is the industry standard first aid award and the corner stone for leadership in outdoor sport at any level.

Asked about the development, The Climbing Centre Group’s Managing Director John Dunne commented:

“After almost six years delivering outdoor courses and national governing body qualifications we feel a partnership with Plas y Brenin is the only way we can guarantee the high quality and consistency our customers deserve.

Whichever one of our walls our customers visit, Manchester, Harrogate or Reading, they can expect the same high standard of training”.

The new courses complement an already diverse range of personal skills courses and a staff-training programme at The Climbing Centre Group’s ambitious climbing centres. On the partnership, Plas y Brenin’s Chief Exective Martin Doyle said:

CCG Team at Plas-y-Brenin“We have worked closely together for a long time now. John Dunne has been connected with Plas y Brenin for as long as I can remember. As a climber and a businessman he is well aware of the high standards The National Mountain Centre maintains and is committed to making sure his customers enjoy the same high standards. The partnership is an extremely comfortable one for us because we know The Climbing Centre Group is as committed to high standards as we are at Plas y Brenin”.
