Climbing is a unique birthday party idea that will give your youngsters and their friends something to talk about for weeks!
Every birthday party is led by one of our experienced instructors in a fun and safe environment, with each group of 8 having their own instructor. The party will include 1.5 hours of climbing activities and games, with all equipment hire included.
Catering can also be provided, made fresh on the day by our on-site cafe Ground Up, and served on our mezzanine overlooking the entire centre! Please allow an additional 30 minutes at the end of your booking if you decided to add the catering.
We look forward to being part of their special day!

I had such a fun Saturday (1st day of a 3 day course). My instructor Dan and his assistant were helpful, patient and very encouraging with us beginners. I managed to overcome my fear of heights, and after a few attempts of climbing the wall only half way through, to actually do it all the way up. The equipment was of a good quality and hygiene. The atmosphere at the climbing wall is light, airy, and the people are friendly and approachable. Looking forward to my other two sessions ahead of learning and I am eager to start my venture in this new hobby.
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my nephew, rather than giving rubbish that goes in the bin a month later. He’s 7 and chose to climb with his uncle in a small grouping 6. He had fantastic direction and encouragement from the instructor Richard, who had a lovely manner and wasn’t at all pushy.
Thought the climbing centre and the session I went to was great! Had a good instructor and just a great time there. Would recommend to anyone thinking about starting climbing!
Excellent session. Ross and Xian were knowledgeable and enthusiastic and I left with a set of practical exercises that I can use to strengthen an injured shoulder and improve my climbing Highly recommended
Great party for my daughter's birthday followed by food in the lovely cafe. Good for a rainy day. Would go back again.
It was great, hopefully I will go back soon for another session. I had a coaching session with Tony.
Have been coming with (then) young sons since the centre opened, but had a four-year hiatus after a cycling accident. For the best family time, train to belay first, then take the kids along. The increase in auto belay machines makes it more fun for the supervising parent. Since returning, the cafe is still a bit disorganised, too many big tables for the space. The coffee is very good. I appreciate the attitude to competence. I trained at Exeter, without the kids and only had to demonstrate the skills again (and again after the IT update). Those kids are now adults and competent to belay me! Will take the lead climbing classes and then provide the same training to them.
Had a "First time" session with RCC this week. Turned up as a total newbie and unsure what to expect. It couldn't have been friendlier and a more welcoming environment. The centre is big - huge amount to do and experience and great facilities. £20 for a 1.5 hour instructor led session that covered all aspects of how to climb the walls and use the bouldering section. Our instructor was Richard L - i cant praise him highly enough - knowledgeable, friendly, clear, easy going and made us at ease in a strange env. I will definitely be back!!
