Alongside roped climbing, bouldering, or low-level climbing without ropes over a crash-mat, is a distinct area of climbing in its own right. Climbs are known as problems or blocs, with each move between handholds designed to test your body and mind.
Reading Climbing Centre offers a large dedicated bouldering area. With over 180 problems, between VB to V8+, across 10 circuits and a competition wall, there is plenty for all ages and abilities.
We also have a state of the art training facility containing two circuits boards, a system board, campus board and a finger board station. So there is plenty to do even if you don’t fancy taking to the ropes. Anyone from age 5 can come and have a go at bouldering, but under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult unless they hold a Blue, Green or Yellow Card.
